I was just wondering if any body has any input about those battery tenders that plug into the wall and do a slow trickle charge on jet skis and fourwheelers. do you guys think those are okay to boost the battery in the machine or no.

They work great! When the battery started to fail on the XP, we kept that charger on it all the time when we weren't riding.

Just always be sure to use it at 2A (mine has 2A, 4A, and 6A settings).

Any higher setting and you risk frying something.

BUT you can use 4 or 6 if you remove the battery from the ski or disconnect all the cables from the battery.

Nowadays, I only use the tender once at the beginning of the season to recharge it from sitting idle all winter. Got new batteries in both my toys, so they hold a charge now.

Take it down to auto part store and get a free load test. I loike the 800 model, has an adapter you can leave connected to terminals and has a cap/cover. Leaveing
the vts in up or down position can hold open the trip switch in vts module and drain
the battery while sitting. Never jump-start a jetski, IMO.

charge

I keep mine on 2A all the time, and never have to worry about a dead battery. Also my boat is in the water, so if there is ever a leak, I do not have to worry about the bilge pump coming on, running the battery dead and then flooding the engine compartment. I am getting a solar charger this week, So I will let you know how that works also.

battery tender.

Yeah that would be great. Let me know how that works for you. I love my battery tender. I use it on my quad, ski, boat and even the lawn mower.
