Battery Light goin on and off

Ok guys so my battery light keeps goin on and off during riding...new battery last year and new rectifier. The rectifier i bought was a brand new cheapo from ebay and it looked exactly the same as stock. Last year immediately after changin the rectifier the tach stopped workin. It only works (the tach)at high rpm(4500+ rpm).Could the cheapo rect cause this tach Problem???From wiring diagrams it looks like the tach signal somehow works off the rectifier. Anyway i might change the cheapo rectifier for a good used bombardier original...I just think my battery is not charging...

The tach doesn't work of the rectifier... the tach takes the signal from the stator. BUT... if it's an "Import" rectifier... then anything is possible.

Disconnect the red wire... make sure the battery fully charged... and see if the problems go away. If they do... then get a good regulator. If it doesn't... then check over the wiring... but I'd say the gauges aren't happy.
