98 GTX RFI drive shaft boot ?

Picked up a 1998 GTX RFI. Previous owner did not take good care of the ski, motor was locked, hull was real dirty inside and out. Pulled the motor out, and have been cleaning it up. Question I have is on the drive shaft boot. With both clamps tight around the rubber boot I am still able to wiggle the boot around the driveshaft on the side the faces the PTO, no play or wiggle room on the pump side of the boot. I want to make sure this is correct before I install the motor back in the hull.

Yes, that wiggle room is normal. Note: there is a small rubber plug missing on the end of the driveshaft. :cheers:

Thanks - ya i got the rubber bumper off - was stuck in the pto when motor was pulled
