97 xp burning fuse

The stator was bad so got one of eBay...now every time u start it blows the fuse. What could cause the fuse from tripping everytime u press start on a 97 xp?

does the fuse blow when you start it or once it starts?

someone had something similar a while back on a 951 and it turned out to be a piece of metal shaving off the starter gear had found its way onto the stator and shorted it out, causing the fuse to blow every time the engine was run. sounds like the replacement stator might be bad/shorted

Its blows when u start it. So I guess return the stator back to eBay seller then and get another one?
