so im looking over my seadoo, and changing/fixing any little problem before i take it out. i ran the seadoo out of water for about 15 mins and my question is, is the axle, and rubber boot suppose to be so hot? its literally hot to the touch. any info would be great guys thanks!

You probably overheated the carbon ring, it's inside the boot. The carbon ring requires water for lubrication and cooling. You shouldn't run your ski on the hose for more than a couple of minutes. Hopefully you didn't damage the carbon ring.

Ohhh i see, another question, does the floating oring spin with the drive shaft? It's alittle hard to rotate by hand

You shouldnt run for over ten minutes out of water in order to keep the carbon ring from getting damaged. The silver floating ring spins with the driveshaft, and the carbon ring stays stationary.

I know I'm a forum "youngster" but it was my understanding that there is a grease point right above the shaft in your pic... Manual says every 50 hours or 10 in saltwater for lubein it up. Correct me if I'm wrong but just another thing to check. Little or no lube can cause a lot of friction.

That grease fitting is for the rear support bearing, which supports the forward end of the driveshaft

Thx , so what's purpose of having a float oring thing if it spins along with the drive shaft?

From the rear support bearing back, it's the same as the other skis, the floating ring forms a seal against the carbon ring, with a small amount of water coming through it stays cool and lubricated, and keeps a large amount of water out of th hull

Wow 15 minutes? is that a typo?

I NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER, run my Seadoos for more than 45 seconds out of the water... wow..
