I am new to the PWC world. Just bought a 97 Sea Doo GSX and an 02 Kawasaki 900 STS and am having problems getting the GSX started. I have read several posts on here, so let me tell you where I am with this issue. I installed new battery. When I put the safety lanyard on the post, I get the two quick beeps that I read indicates that I have the right 'key'. Gauge comes on and indicates the time as 12:00 and begins keeping time from there. When I mash the starter button, nothing! No clicks indicating solenoid is trying to engage, so sound of anykind, just nothing happens. I have checked all fuses and I can jump the solenoid and get the starter to turn, so starter is grounded. Cleaned and checked ground at coil and ground is good there. I assume one of the wires (yellow/red) at starter button should be hot with lanyard installed? Mine is not hot. I have unplugged wireing harnesses wher they plug into the 'black board' that holds fuses and the MPEM (I guess the module with the clear cover is the MPEM) and see no corosion there. When I plug them back in, I get a beep indicating I have restored power to the system. But still no power to the starter button. Assuming there should be power at the starter button when the lanyard is installed, where should I begin checking to locate my problem? Or am I headed in the wrong direction with my assumptions?
