well i ran a compression test on my $400.00 ski today. its a 97 gsi with a 717 motor. both cylinders were right around 170psi. thats kinda high isnt it. this is supposed to be a stock motor the guy said he put some fogging oil in the holes before he stored it and lost the dess lanyard. waiting to get a new lanyard programed. dealer wont touch an unregistered ski so i have a guy who will do it for me for $100.00 on the side. but back to the compression.... any input?anything else i can check while i wait for my new lanyard ?

The oil in the cylinders will raise the compression. After you get it running and clear out the fogging oil, take new readings.

well thats good to know. there seemed to be some oil in there but it was a slight milky white which kinda freaked me out. i mean i only paid $400.00 for it but it really cleaned up nice inside and out.
