Hello all!

I have just taken my 97 challenger with the single 787 out for the winter (mainly because the starter died) but wanted to do some maintenance on the boat to correct the bad cavitation. I took the jet drive out expecting the wear ring to be shot but overall it looks pretty good. No huge digs or damage. I am assuming the cavitation is coming from the carbon ring which I will replace this offseason, the bellow had a slice through it also.

I just wanted an opinion on the impeller. There is some damage around the edge. Im not sure but it almost looks like someone tried to resurface it a bit. What do you guys think? New impeller required?

Thank you!

That’s not normal, someone did something with it.

If it was me I would send it to Impros for refurbishment.

Since you have the jetpump out, take it into a dark room and shine a flashlight on one end, while hand spinning the impeller and seeing how much light comes through. Should be very minimal.
