96 XP VTS removal with pics

Hey guys, nice forum,lotsa info, sure i'll be reading and reading.Just got this ole bird today, mechanic told me VTS was seized from salt water, right he was,managed to grab one from ebay with couple mins left for $69,i'll give that a try and a new boot on the back of the shaft, which prob caused it in the first place,hope the pics help someone else see whats behind there.

VTS Tool for big black nut

When taking the VTS trim unit off there is ONLY one nut holding
it to the hull. This nut is black and just behind the rubber boot.
I can get it off easy enough but back on is another story.
If the pump is off this is no big deal but it your not going to take the
pump off here is the tool.
1) PVP 1" slip T
2) mark the end of the slip in six places
3) Then cut at each mark 1/2 deep
4) Make each cut 1/4 wide
The time to make this new tool is 20 minutes if the T is in hand.

If you do make this tool please post it as well. I'm sure someone will
look at this and say: I can make it better. please post rev 2.

The end result will look like this:
