96 xp does not launch good

my 96 xp, i have cleaned carbs and replaced fuel lines. now it runs awesome but when trying to take off now it will not just take off. have to get it going faster and faster then it will go, sounds like when taking off like something comes unengaged or loses propulsion. HELP?????

Is the engine reving up... and the ski isn't moving? That's cavitation.

Check the impeller, and the wear ring clearance... and you may need a carbon seal.

yes engine is reving up, and ski moves some but will not launch on take off quick just real slow. what is cavitation? how do i check the other things you talked about?
