Hi. Brand new to site. Really helpful so far. I recently bought two 96 sps. They set for a long time. I started on one by draining the gas. Changed fuel lines. Rebuilt the Carb. New plugs. It seems to be trying to hit but just wont take off. If started on Carb cleaner but wont stay running. Seems to be gettingto much oil. Plugs covered when I pull them out. Ski has original self mix still on it.

Since they sat for a while, oil probably leaked into the crank case. You may be able to get some of that oil out by pulling the plugs, putting rags over the plug holes and cranking (no throttle). This will blow some of that oil out. Don't crank more than 10 seconds at a time to keep from overheating the starter. Keep doing this until no more oil blows out. Then put plugs back in and give it a try.

Ive had them out to purge what I thout was a flood. I looked at the pistons to inspection t what I could. There wasn't any amount of oil come out. If j pul one plug and try to start it I get smoke from the piston. I get smoke from Carb throat when trying to start regularly. I'm Gona try it again to double check. I appreciate the help. Its driving me nuts.
