My 96 gti goes through about a tank of oil every two tank fulls of gas.. Seems like allot, my 95 xp dosen't use near that much. It's not smoking much at all and isn't hard to start.

Yeah that's way to much. I've had summers where I only go through a couple gallons for the season and that's splitting it between two skis.

You burn a full tank if oil ? If you were, it would be smoking like mad. More or less... you should burn about a quart of oil per tank of fuel.

Make sure the tank isn't leaking, and it's not going out with the bilge water.

What if the oil pump was wide open 24/7?

Yeah, it's crazy. But it doesn't smoke. Just went out and filled it up. No leaks that I can find. I'm going to keep a good eye on it over this next week. Plugs look fine as well. I don't get it.

ya thats crazy, 1 gallon should last you at LEAST 50 gallons of gas at a bare minimum, and thats actually a real conservative number, the last time I wasn't premixed was 2009, but i had a 1 1/4 gallon tank and it took forEVER to run low on Oil, 5-6 long rides, and a good 60-70 gallons of fuel, and then I was just topping it off, it wasn't empty

how much does it smoke when you start it on the trailer ?

are you sure you don't have a ton of oil/buildup, residue in the bottom of the hull ?

and if I may back up before we go forward, is this approximately a Gallon sized tank ? and what is the size of your gas tank.
ie: i'd like to have an idea of actual numbers, gallon of oil = how many gallons of gas...

check and make sure the linkage for your pump hasn't come undone or it would be running wide open even at idle
