96 bombadier runs on land not in water

my old 96 will run on land ( alittle rough but will rev up to full throttle) but as soon as i back it into water it shuts off or will sputter and cough and move a little then shut down, almost like it happens " under load", any help would be much appreciated my kid is about to kill me if i go another year without it.

Sounds like a fuel problem u might want to clean the carbs out

Thats that same thing my 96 SPI did it ended up being the grey fuel lines had clogged the fuel selector (ON,Res,Off) and carb. Changed out the fuel line with blakc automotive lines and rebuilt carb runs great! I would take off fuels lines and check for build-up around listed areas it looks almost like sludged up oil.

That describes exactly what my old SP would do. I had to replace the piston rings and everything was back to normal. First thing is to check compression as stated above. Good luck.

Thats caused from low compression. Time for a top-end.
