I have a freshly rebuilt 951 that wont accelerate to full revs. I am thinking that it is not getting enough fuel. Out of the water and connected to the hose it revs freely enough ( not to high as it is still tight and needs running in ). On the water , under load it starts to accelerate , then it coughs and splutters and then stalls. After restarting the engine, if I open and close the throttle rapidly it will start to accelerate and then it snuffs out again. It will idle fine and run to about 2500 rpm and that is about as good as it gets.
What should I be checking and tweaking to get it flying at full speed ? I look forward to your ideas !
