The MPEM 5A fuse blows whenever I attach the stator harness to the mag cover

Engine turns over by shorting the solenoid

Disconnecting two yellow wires from rectifier still blows fuse, disconnecting red wire from rectifier still blows fuse

One of the 5A fuse terminals (But not both) has continuity to any ground coming from the MPEM regardless if the stator is involved

I did not hook up a jumppack to the battery, this happened after a day out on the water, didn't give any trouble, happened on the trailer home or silently overnight

So it seems like the MPEM diode is shot, correct? But could there also be a short in my stator? Or should I just get a new MPEM and hook her up?

Can I test if there is a short within the stator without removing the mag cover?
Stator Wires tested OK for ohms, yellow wires to ground does not have continuity, but Black/red wire -to- black wire does have continuity, is that an issue or does that mean it's working correctly?
