Two problems to make it short and sweet. One the gas tank builds up pressure .When I had it stored this winter. My shed always smelled like gas and I didn't know what it was until I took the gas cap off this spring and it nearly blew off. Second when you switch the fuel valve to reserve it runs out of fuel.

Two years ago I bought this old Sea Doo at a yard sale. The lady told me that a young girl about 12 had lost her foot because of it. Think they were tubing and the ski rope was wrapped around her ankle when they took off.
(Just wanted to point out how dangerous this or anything can be if not used carefully.)

I replaced the gas tank, fuel lines and fuel on-off- reserve valve. I know the baffle tube that goes in the tank is getting in bad shape. I replaced the float for the fuel gage and it worked for a short time. Could this baffle thing be the cause of the pressure build up and reserve not working? I know they have a vent valve built into the body under the hood. Could this valve be bad and not letting the excess presure out of the gas tank? Could it be a switched gas line? Who knows? Just thought I would ask. This forum has helped before.
Thanks!

ok i just experenced this with my 99 gts. first of all it sounds like the f1 fuse is bad. its's inside the tube with the float. there is a thread on how to fix that. i just did it today and the gas guage works great now. you have a fuel line hooked up in the wrong place. i did that today as well after fixing the fuse. there are four nipples on the tube coming out of the tank. looking in from the front of the ski the vent line goes on the one on the left nipple. the nipple on the front goes to the reserve the one on the right goes to the carb. the front nipple connect to the reserve nipple on the fuel selector. the nipple on the back also connets to the fuel selector. the two vent lines come together at a tee and then it runs to the left nipple as stated above. hope this gives you some direction. mine built up pressure today and this was the problem. the vent on the hull has a check valve. blow into it you should not be abel to. the vent up on the top of the storage compartment also has a check valve. you should be able to blow into this one. if you still have trouble i maybe able to help some more just let me know.
