okay waterdogs i need help.
my gsx has no compression on the front cyl and i need some tips to replace the rings. do i need to take out the motor (787)? and how can i block the faulty oil pump that caused this? any pictures would be very helpful...thanks guys

More than likely rings wont fix zero compression. If the piston disintegrated, bits are in the lower case. You will need to remove the engine and split the cases before you do anymore damage, as it may be a savageable repair. Its the only way to determine any damage to crank.

can i get away with just a top end inspection first. still sounds smooth without plugs in. didnt ride it or anything. just happened while testing in driveway. oil pump failed and i shut it off.

Hope so.
The white power in the *plug is aluminum piston. Look down the *plug hole and bring piston to top and see. Then look thru raves.
You'll have to take the jugs off that 787.
