787 engine oil system???

Is it necessary to run a pressure check on the oil system after doing a top end rebuild? The manual says that the system should maintain a 3psi. for a period of 10 minutes. I am almost positive that the plug on the top of the oil tank where the check valve is, leaks to some degree, which doesn't really surprise me after soaking in oil for 16 years.
