717 carb rebuild?

Hi,
I have a 99 Speedster SK that I think may need the carbs rebuilt. Both engines seem to be running good but they are idling a bit rough...enough to make the engine lid vibrate pretty loudly. It does smoke a bit upon starting but clears after they warm up. Also, upon acceleration, the port engine bogs just a touch but catches right up. They are both making really good power at 3/4 throttle. The plugs however seem to get oil fouled in less than 1 tank of fuel. Question is, does it sound like a rebuild is in order? If so, how do I find the correct kit? I'm not familiar with the SeaDoo engines but have rebuilt other marine carbs. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Joe

Welcome to the seadoo forum Joe. Carb rebuilds on the seadoo's aren't much different. it might be possible that the carbs just need a good cleaning.

Thanks Karl,
Any idea on a part number for a rebuild kit? Just figure if I'm going to tear into the carb to clean it, I might as well rebuild it. Looking at the shop manual now and don't see a number.
Thanks again,
Joe

The 99 SK has a single SBN40 on each engine. I can't tell you the part number... but just get a Mikuni Super BN kit.

Avoid buying an after market kit. They are known to have diaphragm issues.

Where in PA are you?
