4-tec Piston Rod bolts

Can someone tell me what type of socket to use to remove the bolts that connect the piston rod to the crank? I tried a 12 point 10mm and a torx. both slip on the head of the bolt.

It should be nothing more than a QUALITY 12 point socket.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like someone else had this motor apart so perhaps the bolts heads have been stripped out a bit. I will see if I can find a different 12 point socket that fits tighter. Maybe force on a 3/8 12 point. Thanks again.

I'd tap on an SAE 12 point, break them free, then using an extension pull the socket off the bolt. Order new bolts.

It looks like yours are rounded a bit.

Got them off. Just used a different and apparently better quality 12 point 10 mm socket. Thanks for the help.
