2011 GTI 155

New to this site but thought I might get some help. Just purchased this '11 GTI 155 w/117hrs. During the first run on the water the steering seems overly loose. At lower rpm's its somewhat out of control wanting to go left and right and the higher rpm's just exaggerate the problem.

Anyone have any ideas, maybe stretched steering cable etc. Need some help on what to look at first

do you have play in the steering? have someone hold the handle bars steady and grab the steering nozzle and try to move it side to side, you should be able to feel the play if there is any. The steering cables don't stretch, even if they did it wouldn't cause the issue you are describing, it would be out of alignment if it was stretched. what you are describing sounds more like you are overcorrecting when you are driving, have you had experience driving watercraft before?
