2008 215hp supercharger failure

Just bought this boat on Sunday, took it out on Tuesday (yesterday) and immediately realized something was definitely wrong. The boat was making some awful grinding noises coming from The engine so I put it back on the trailer brought it home and pulled the SC off. It was missing both of the friction washers and all of the needle bearings. So I pulled the motor out today and took it apart and found lots of metal in the front oil pump, still have to go through the pto side but I am contacting the PO to see if he will give me some money back, we will see how that goes, lots of cleaning for now and ordering some parts. Welcome to SEA DONT life!

Good news the PO said he will be sending me 1500 dollars for repairs so I ordered a x model charger and 2 new oil pump kits

Might as well get the bigger injectors so you can get gains from the bigger boost.

I would go through the entire engine to see if you have any other damage. You will end up spending more than $1500 with new stretch bolts, head gasket, oil pumps, etc. but will be worth it when you're done.

Surprised the PO is giving money back. They have no obligation to do so. Hopefully the check will actually show up.

Yeah I think I'll order the 42 lb injectors today, I'm just going to assume nothing else is in the motor other than what I found In the bottom end, if something else is bad I'll find out next week when I get it running again, I figure if the motor is junk then I'm gonna redo everything crank, bearings, cam, retainers, springs, rods, pistons etc yeah I'm surprised he is sending any money back at all, must be a pretty honest guy
