Hi All,
New to the 4 stroke world...Here's my story. I recently acquired a 04 GTX that had a history of sinking. From the looks of the waterline, it appears that it was sunk where the motor was 2/3rds underwater. I was able to get the boat dried out and running and fix the sinking issue( OPAS bellows were torn). I've changed the oil multiple times and it seems to be all good as it fires up instantly and idles well.
1) When I first got it, the DESS would chirp like it should, it no longer does
2)It fires up and runs as it should, but the cluster is dead. I've taken apart the hood and pulled the cluster tested the wiring for continuity, there was a corroded wire under the hood hinge(quick connect red/blue wire) that had been repaired. Now all the wires from the cluster to the MPEM have continuity.
Is there a way to test the cluster to find out if its the problem?
Could it be the MPEM? even though the ski runs?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Tim
