2003 XP Di question

I'm new to the forum, just bought a 2004 GTI RFI but I've owned a seadoo before as well. A friend of mine just told me about a 2003 XP Di he used to own that his friend now owns. According to him the ski has less than 100 hours and looks new. He's wanting to sell it fairly cheap because it isn't running right, he says the maintenance light is flashing and it won't go over a certain speed (limp mode). He's not sure what's wrong with it, says it started doing it after he put some PW3C oil it. He changed it back to seadoo oil but same problem. I'm thinking maybe a stuck rave? Any other ideas as to what it could be or what to check? Also what would this ski be worth in this shape with a steel single trailer? Thanks a lot!

limp mpde shouldnt be affecte by the oil. let me know if XP is still for sale

i have the same problem with my 02 gtx di, it was running great then suddenly it started to slow down, from 55 to 30 now it only starts for about 2 min then it shuts off, before it had TC-W3 oil, i drain all of it and used the seadoo synthetic oil..
