2003 Sea Doo XP Di high temperature warning

Hello,

I have a 2003 Sea Doo XP Di jet ski. After a couple of minutes of riding it; it is giving me a high temp warning (with beeping), and I also smell a light burning smell behind my direct injection engine. I have only had the jet ski a short time, and the hours are low (28 hours to be exact). Thanks for any and all ideas you may have to fix the jet ski.

Please feel free to give ANY opinion, along with what you would do. I work on my sports car often, but I know very little about fixing my jet ski.

Are you having any type of problem taking off or is it cavitating any?

@rxtxfreak88- No my ski is not having trouble taking off, and its not cavitating any. The only thing I personally know for sure is there is a small burning smell coming from the engine compartment.

I would check and see if you see any water coming in anywhere and start checking your hoses. You may have a hole in a hose that is not allowing it to circulate properly.
