Just took my Islandia out for a spin and I believe either the steering cable or throttle linkage cable or both snapped on me. I lost all steering capability. Felt a snap. Turned the wheel and get no movement out of the nozzle. Also, the wheel will catch and throw the engine in reverse on its own. I also can’t force it back to forward, only idle. Has anyone had this happen before?? Any information would be helpful.

Sounds like you may have a broken steering cable. Try to move the nozzle back & forth. If you hear a crunching or grinding noise, it's time to replace.

From a safety standpoint, check all the cables- steering, throttle, shift. Both ends.

The throttle and shift cables are pretty standard. The steering is just a heavy duty control cable. You can find them on ebay. The only special tool you need is a crowfoot wrench. Don't remember what size.
