Just purchased 2000 GTI test rode it at the lake before purchase ran perfect. Went to the lake last weekend ran great for 3 hours then it acted like it was running out of gas. I have rebuilt the carb replaced all of the grey fuel lines put a new fuel selecter and a new baffle in the tank it still is not getting gas through the carb. I have gas at the input fuel line to the carb nothing getting through the carb I have verified the pop off and it seems to be correct. Any suggestions?

Only a couple of things come to mind. Check the gas tank vent, and check to see if the engine is providing pressure and suction at the pulse line connection.

First let me say thanks for your reply. Already checked the vent the check valve it is working corrrectly. The pulse seems to be weak I cant find any specific information on how much vacum and pressue should be measured. I have a vacum and fuel pump tester I inserted it in the pulse line and turned the engine over I was measuring less than 1lb in either. How much should I see?

To be honest I'm not sure the vacuum should be, but I would guess more than 1 lb., what's your engine compression. Check it cold, spark plugs out, spark plug caps grounded, throttle open.
