2000 challenger key ignition

Hello All,
I recently purchased a 2000 Challenger 1800 with the intent to go completely thru it.
The boat was shrink wrapped and was told that the keys were in it. They were not!

Can anyone recommend a replacement key that I can put into it?

That model year had the Mercury engine in it. You can either check the parts list for it and see if it is universal or take it out and see if a locksmith shop can make a key for you.

there are a number of different keys available from merc for that ignition, they have a number and letter on them, if you can find out what key it is then you can order a couple, I have a ring with a bunch of different ones on it but not all of them, you might find a dealer that has some on a ring for working on peoples boats when they don't leave their key.
