1999 gtx shuts off when letting off throttle when....

If I am riding and let off the gas to slow down, the ski will turn off when it gets to 0 mph. I can correct this by blipping the throttle but any idea why this happens? Just picked up this new ski with 83 hrs on it. The double beep on start up it loud sometime and hardly audible at others, odd but seems common? Another thing, when the ski is off for more than 10 minutes , when I start it back up and go to take off it tends to hesiate and sometimes stalls but once it shuts off and I turn it back on, it always accelerates w no problems..thoughts? Previous owner said carbs were cleaned and fuel lines replaced but they are still grey? thanks everyone

If they are grey, he was lying. Replace them and it should fix all of these issues.

Your beeper is probably on its way out. You can get a new one at Radio shack, with a slight modification it plugs right in.

I agree but also clean the little carb filter and add an in-line fuel filter just before the carbs. A Fram G-2 works great....but don't get the metal one get the "yellowish" plastic one so you can see the fuel inside of it.

Thank you guys for the quick responses. These damn fuel lines, what a pita. How difficult are they to really change? Id like to do them asap. Im fairly new to jet skis!
