1999 GTS crack in hull close to bellow.

I recently bought this jet ski. I noticed a crack in the hull close to where the drive shaft goes thru the hull. Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what caused it.

Not common at all. Probably something like a rope and anchor got wrapped around the driveshaft.

The correct fix would be to put a few layers of fiberglass on it with epoxy resin.

The easy fix is some Marine-Tex epoxy.

I didn’t see any damage, but it could be behind a black plastic mounding that the drive shaft runs through. I’m not sure how the mounding is attached.

West Marine 2 part epoxy works well and is easy to work with. Sand it well and apply it with fiberglass cloth tape 3x coats good to go.
