So far Dr. has came to my rescue every time we will see how this goes lol. So ive been having some problems with my 12v low light coming on I replaced the battery at the first of the season. Ive now got 2 keys so i can rule out key or dess post for good contact. Ive checked connections they all appear ok so I was just doing a walk around the back side of it and noticed the rod for the trim is broken guess first question is when I replace is it as easy as it looks unscew the plastic nut after boot is off slide rod off and replaced part number for what is broken is 278001698 actual name is Bloc. coulissant assembley im still a newbie so had to look up name and part number. First thing i think o great my vts motor is not going to work either. I check and make sure i can still hear the motor running and moving vts up and down my 12v low light comes on so i think its just taking a lot of power to move motor since ski isnt running. So i hook up a jump pack put key back on no light as soon as i hit vts up or down my 12v light comes on any thoughts on that. First time i rode ski ever was probally march the 12v light never came on but ran like crap. After replacing the tempo lines, cleaning fuel selector, and having carbs cleaned/rebuilt ive rode it once and thats when 12v light comes on and id imange that rod wasnt broken until my 2nd time out.

Thanks

The VTS rod is the internal shaft. The nut holds the entire VTS unit in the hull. TO get the shaft out... you have to disassemble the VTS unit, and it comes out the motor side.

As far as the 12v low... if the engine isn't on... don't worry about it. It's looking for about 12.5 v... so hooking up a jump pack probably wont' help either. BUT... don't try to get that light to go out if the ski isn't running. If you put enough voltage on the ski to get the light out... you can kill the MPEM if you try to power it up.

Basically... you are making a problem out of something that isn't a problem.

With that said... if you are out riding the ski, and that light is on... then we need to figure out why.

Alright thanks once again in going to remove vts tonight and order parts for it as well as a new switch for bildge pump. Once thats fixed then ill have an update for more detail on 12v light.
