1997 Sea Doo Gti Oil Level Sensor Question

Just removed the tank on the jet ski to fix a leak on it. Pretty sure there is nothing connected to the grey line shown in the picture below (not exact tank in ski but the sensor is the same). Did some research and apparently it's the check valve. Just want to verify if anything is suppose to be connected there or not in the ski, got to removing stuff and this was the one connection I don't remember un-doing and I do not see anything loose in the ski that would connect there.

It's a check valve for the vent on the oil tank, that's the way it's supposed to be, nothing connects to it.
