1997 GTX need a neoprene seal??

I am installing a new wear ring, factor part, in my 97GTX. Does it need a neoprene seal in it between the pump and body. I ordered one and have it but there was not one there when I took it apart.

Short answer, neoprene seal not necessary. I actually just replaced the wear ring on my 1997 GTX this week. I ordered the black factory one, made by WSM I believe. Has the thin lip on one end, which goes against the hull plate and is just like the OEM I pulled out.

Some models use it and some don’t but to guarantee your pump isn’t sucking air most of us use them on every 140mm pump.

Yep, they're cheap and easy to install. I'd use it if you have it.
