I rebuilt both carbs about a month ago. It ran great for two full days on the lake, and went thru two full tanks of gas. Yesterday was the second full day. I was in a pinch and had to go to a marina to fill up again. All they had was 89 octane. I was on my way back to the dock, cruising about 40 mph, and without warning it bogged down. First thought was something got sucked up in the jet. It seemed clear, but pulled out a piece of black plastic from the back of the jet. the rpms go right up, and seems to be running great, but can only get about 10 mph at 7000 rpm! Took the ski out of the water and verified nothing was in the jet at all. Prop looks good. The only thing I have noticed is the bearing boot where the driveshaft connects to the engine is torn. Seems like the prob isn't with the engine but in the propulsion somewhere. Any advice? could fouled spark plugs do this or something easy to check? thanks peeps!
