I have a 1997 GTI that will occasionally drop RPM at full throttle. Kind of like its starved for gas. I started by siphoning out as much gas as I could and put some fresh gas in. I installed new plugs. That didnt get rid of the problem. last night I cleaned out the bottom of the fuel filter bowl and blew out the filter itself. It had some junk on it, but I doubt that would obstruct enough fuel to bog the engine. Next I removed the fuel baffle pick up and cleaned the filter at the bottom of that. Again, some junk but not real bad. Then I turned the adustment screw on the carb 1/8 of a turn towards the rich side. Is there any carb cleaner anybody recommends to run through the tank? I haven't got it on the water yet to see if my tinkering did any good. Any other suggestions?

need to pull the carb, and go thru it, and replace the grey fuel lines.
