1990 Yamaha Waverunner Smoktech battery against motor

everyone thank you in advance for helping I have a 1990 Yamaha WaveRunner my battery came loose in the positive touch the motor before I could move it it sparked and smoked now when I press the green start button I get nothing can someone please help me tell me where to start looking I opened up the box and looked at the phone to use it was and it was still good but I'm not sure where the check next thank you for all your help

It' the early yamaha's... if you look at the electrical box, there is a screw on cover. Behind that cover is a fuse. Make sure it's not pop'ed.
