09 RXT IS 255 problems

Hi all
Took the ski out today and was running great. All at once, it just would not pump water. Motor runds up great, can hear the SC wind up, but refused to pump any water. Also, it sounds like something is rubbing when I crack the throttle. In the past it has sucked small things up the grate and hesitated, but never have seen/heard it do this.
I'm thinking drive shaft or pump has come apart. Anyone ever experience anything like this with theirs or have any clues to what it may be?

Well, my 2009 RXTis has spent most of the last YEAR in the shop with a similar sounding problem! The impeller was reversing itself and stripped out. BRP has never determined the reason but it happens multiple times. Finally the motor was replaced.

It could also be a crank shaft issue from what you describe.

I had a similar problem, first week of June. I like you, thought it was maybe something in the impeller but everything looked ok. Upon closer examination, I discovered a bolt missing out of the pump. I took it to the dealer and they determined when the bolt came out it took out the impeller, bearings, and drive shaft. Fortunately it was still under warranty.
