07 GTI - Steering is LOCKED

Just picked up an 07 GTI 155, and overall in good shape but has been sitting, like most do, for years. The major issue is the Steering is locked / frozen. The cable is off so I have eliminated that as the usual cause, I'm stumped on this one. Anyone have this happen?

The steering column is aluminum and corrodes and expands in the plastic steering column housing

Remove steering column clean it up scotch brite a light smear of grease reassemble and your good to go

You were absolutely correct, and after about an hour it was fixed! Safety Note though, don't stand on the ski and yank the steering out....when it finally broke free I almost went flying!
