97 xp clunking noise when trying to start

Standard auto fuel line. You will need about 25 feet total of 1/4" and 5/16" line. I cannot remember how much of each because it has been a while since I did mine, but I think it may have been 10' of 5/16" and 15' of 1/4".

    Fuel selector switch

That switch is on, not reserve. You cannot put the knob on incorrectly. It is keyed.

97 xp clunking noise when trying to start

Mostly, the recommendation is to rebuild your existing OEM. The parts are not that expensive. The aftermarkets are expensive because they do not last and you would be constantly replacing them and experiencing failure.

97 xp clunking noise when trying to start

If it is not an OEM starter, I personally would dump it and start with a rebuilt OEM starter. You should not be getting Sparks from a starter. That is a very dangerous thing in a bilge. Your beeper may be bad, also. Common issue if it has not been replaced.

Hmm, mine has plastic pump housing but no screws. I've never seen this brought up before. Learn something new everyday. Lol

    Wear ring question...screws?

Interesting, what purpose so they serve? It is hard to tell in the picture but it looks like these screws are in the channel for the plastic piece with the syphoning tubes

    Wear ring question...screws?

Not on any Sea-Doo I have ever seen. Especially the two models you have listed in your profile.

    2000 XP no spark

Let's get the simple things settled for no spark. Your ski is 19 years old. Have you removed the boots from the spark plugs wires, cut the wires back 1/4" inch and screwed the boots back on?

    Gas evaporated?

Clarification here. While I state I saw it with a full tank, I meant that I have seen gas come out of the inlet vent (not functioning properly) enough to see gas run down the side of the hull due to expansion of gas in a full tank. I did not mean pissing it out and by no means emptying the tank.

Wont start in water 99 gtx rfi

Well with out knowing all the history it is hard for us to ascertain. For instance did previous owner find the cause of any previous issues that required a new to end. Has the fuel lines been replaced from the originals? Were the carbs rebuilt? And if so were OEM kits used? If you do not know...

If it were me, with a known good battery, I would run my own compression test.

    2000 XP no spark

The starter is still a load for marginal or bad battery. Plugs or not.

Wont start in water 99 gtx rfi

What is the RPM out of water? If it is 3000 then it is probably not an idle issue. Could be a week battery. What is the compression?

    Gas evaporated?

I do not believe that that much gas has evaporated in that amount of time even with those conditions and with only 2 or 3 gallons in a 15 gallon tank, I don't think it would have been pressured out of your vent either. I have only seen that happen with a full tank. If your needle and seats are...
