93 Seadoo 587 single carb...where does the pulse line connect?

We replaced an engine in buddy's Sea Doo and cannot figure out where the pulse line is supposed to run to from the carb port? I figure it needs vacuum from somewhere on the intake but we cannot find a missing nipple or port to connect the line to that is coming out of the carb. Thanks for...

How to tell if crank seals are bad/failing or had not been replaced?

Hi guys, A friend of mine purchased a rebuilt motor and took it in to have it professionally installed locally. The local installation mechanic is claiming that there is no way this is a rebuilt motor and that the crank seals are no good and the top end was the only thing rebuilt. It's tough...

720, starter won’t go back onto block?

I put it in the freezer overnight to see if it helps. Was told to grind some of the opening out and see if that helps. Pulled engine for a rebuild and for some reason I cannot get the starter to seat into the cavity. It seems as if it’s a couple thousandths too large or something? Anyone ever...

Putting in rebuilt engine..should I use an alignment tool?

This will be my first time installing an engine into a seadoo. 1996 speedster with the dual 717’s. Is close good enough or do I need to make one of those tools out of the 18 mm rod?

Please see 2 photos. Should I replace that rotary valve cover or have it machined down? The oil dripped out from the back and is not coming from the nose cone seal area.. Are there internal seals on the pump shaft/housing? You can see the oil drip line if you look close inside there.. Should...

How tough to rebuild 717 seadoo engine? 96 speedster

Thank you. I literally just spend $1200 on having the carbs all gone through, supposedly made sure oil pumps were functioning and did a power tune on the boat at the Ski Clinic. The boat was running perfectly and better than it has ever ran. I had it out for about an hour and a half and...

How tough to rebuild 717 seadoo engine? 96 speedster

Thank you so much. This is what I was wondering. I'll look into SBT... Was the timing setting and syncing the motors tough?

How tough to rebuild 717 seadoo engine? 96 speedster

Pretty sure my lower end let loose today. Seized up. I see rebuild kits online anywhere from 300-550. Complete rebuilt for $850-$1200 with core. It seems like a cracked rod or rod bearing. Looked in the pump and impeller is all clear but will disconnect pump to be sure. Driver side turns...
