    P0335 trouble

Hahaha, I'm sure that has happened to me also somewhere down the line. I just got to work on this again only this weekend and I'm still scratching my head on this. It starts up well, I left the new regulator in there just in case, and I keep getting the same problem..... idles just fine and as...

    P0335 trouble

Hey, thanks for the response. I totally agree with you on the old fashioned troubleshooting. I think the Candoo just messes with your head anyways. I actually swapped a new rectifier and it did not solve the problem. Fuel and air pressure at idle and half throttle all look prefect. I will...

    P0335 trouble

Hey guys it’s been a while, guess that a good thing ha!! I ran into an issue with my 2001 rxdi, dropped a new crankshaft into it last year, melted a thrust washer, and it ran great all last season. Haven’t been out much this year but when I started it up on the trailer it idled like crap...

Best fuel pump for 2002 GTX DI

Went through 2 aftermarket pumps in a season. My advice is bite the bullet and buy either a used one from westsidepowersports.com for around $400 or a new one ($900). No issues for 4 seasons. Def worth the no headache….. good luck

    Engine mount head scratch......

Yes they are, that’s why I’m puzzled as to why the engine is 1/8 off

    Engine mount head scratch......

That’s the thing, the engine mounts are open but still leaves my engine about 1/8” high. No matter what I do I get the engine lower….

    Engine mount head scratch......

Sorry it took a while to get back to this thread but I spoke with a rep from a shop close to me about alignment on this 98 XPL. I was told the only part that needs to be properly aligned is the mid-bearing which is right under the shock absorber below the seat. Align that with the alignment...

    Engine mount head scratch......

I have the shorter mount for the front. You are correct, the rear mounts have slotted holes at the base to allow an outward movement for them but because of the opposite slotted holes on the mounting bracket I am not able to push the mounts outward, unless I modify the bracket to allow that...

    Engine mount head scratch......

Understood, but even if I lift the engine up 12” the alignment bar still doesn’t line up. The rears must go down. I’m searching for a shorter mount.

    Engine mount head scratch......

Hey guys, on my 98 XPL the 2 rear engine mounts were shot. So I ordered new ones, for rear and front. I soon found out the front mounts are a different height than the old ones but the rears were the same. I installed them all anyways and would align the engine with the alignment tool then...

Installing Fuel Pump - 2001 RXDI

Make sure the hole pattern on the pump is lined up with studs on the tank. Im pretty sure one of the studs is just a tad off so it can only go in one way. There should also be an arrow on both the pump and the tank that should be lined up. Once you have all that lined up you will have to...

    Thrust washer & bearing

I have replaced a few pumps last year and realized the thrust washer that comes in the rebuild pack is not the same size as the oem, its actually a touch larger. When I put the pump back together the prop would be extremely difficult to spin if not spin at all. I had no choice but to clean up...

    VTS Trim Fix found....

Oops, sorry I’m not too savvy with that. Here’s the copy/paste. The pics aren’t too necessary but I will figure out how to send them as well.. VTS Trim actual fix

    VTS Trim Fix found....

Hey guys, so I know almost everyone has had a problem with their VTS burning out and having to get it fixed including myself. Some of the fixes get a little too crazy with the new relays and wiring and all that but I was just browsing through another site and I found this post regarding the...

    Fuel Pump Replacement

As I have posted before, I went through a few aftermarket pumps in the past, can't remember if they were Quantum or what, but they never worked. Bit the bullet and just bought used pumps from westsidepowersports.com as well. There are even some available on eBay as well. I have 2 sitting on...
