What do these pictures indicate? (top-end)

I'm actually going to rebuild the carburetor again with a genuine mikuni kit this time. I'll do flow checks like you suggested. How do you clean the trans fluid out when you're done? I'm worried that shooting carb cleaner in there would dissolve some of the plastic or rubber components. What...

What do these pictures indicate? (top-end)

I've been having intermittent power issues and low top speed that wasn't solved by a carburetor rebuild. Compression was reading at 135psi and 140psi. Pulled the coolant block and the top off the cyclinders and this is what I found. What does this indicate about how the motor is running? What...

96 Challenger - Low Top Speed

I meant, "can I get away with just a top end rebuild to improve compression as opposed to an entire rebuild (top & bottom) of the engine?"

Can I get away with just a top end rebuild to improve my compression?

96 Challenger - Low Top Speed

I did borrow a guage from an auto store. I've read that unless you have a high end compression guage, they're generally unreliable for an absolute value - that they're mostly only good for relative values. Also, why would compression be low on both cylinders?

96 Challenger - Low Top Speed

I've been working on a 1996 SeaDoo Challenger with a 787 Rotax and I can't get the top speed above about 33mph on smooth water. Top engine speed of 6,000RPMs* Things I've done: - replaced wear ring - trimmed spark plugs wires - cleaned rave valves - rebuilt exhaust rave valve - rebuilt...

Wanted: PURPLE rub rail for 96 SeaDoo Challenger

If anyone knows where I can find an old Sea Doo boat that's being parted out, I am trying to replace my rub rail. I'm specifically looking for the original purple color. Sea Doo only manufactures it in black now. Let me know if you have a wrecked/totalled boat that you're parting out. Willing...

'96 Challenger won't plane unless someone sits at the front of the boat. Possible RPM

Just checked the RAVE valves. They are dirty but they move freely. Gonna check the cylinder compression before I clean them though so that when I add oil back to the cylinders it doesn't throw off the compression readings.

'96 Challenger won't plane unless someone sits at the front of the boat. Possible RPM

'96 Challenger won't plane unless someone sits at front of boat. Possible RPM issue? '96 SeaDoo Challenger. Roommate bought it a couple weeks ago but he is not mechanically inclined so I am doing the repairs/restoration for him. When we first took it out, it would not go above 15mph...
