I just redid mine, got to a auto value or auto parts store, you will need to take the seal, the bearings, and the race, you get the race of by cleaning the grease out so you can see in the hub, then using a rod and hammer, hit the lip of the race out, take parts to the store and they should be...

It didn't bog down, the speed dropped with the sound, the throttle was all the way in the whole time. The engine didn't miss at all . When I let off completely and hit it it would take off but slow down instantly.

That sounds like a plan. It's leaking out of this seal between these to pieces.

The only problem I would have with removing it would be that it leaves a gap where the gasket goes which is a decent size

Would you use the old gasket and put a bead all around it on both sides or not use the old gasket

Soooo I'm on vacation and the battery died in my 97 gti. So I hooked up the hose and started it, I noticed that it was leaking around the exhaust manifold and the pipe. It's Saturday night and all the dealers are closed tomorrow. Is there a way to put sealer around it or something

I had the same issue with my 97 gti. Put new engine in, new carbs and replaces the lines. Primed the lines like you did and put fuel into the engine. In the end had the in and out lines switched. Runs good now

Does anyone know the part number of the replacement. Working in my brothers 1998 xp and the fuel gauge doesn't work and that's the issue, I want to make sure I get the right one. Anyone know????

I bought these carbs for a good deal. But when I look them up I can't find them unless there the 657x... these are what mine look like and yes I replaced the gray vacuum line.... any help

I reconnect the lines exactly how they were before. It looks like there needs to be hose clamp on the pulse line. I replaced and put new seals in the carbs. I will disconnect the line to the farthest carb,it has a dual carb set up, and check if it's feeding fuel. Thanks for the help

For some reason I have cranked it about 10-15 times and it still won't fire over

It's after so I will check to make sure, how long should it take to get the fuel all the way threw the lines???
