    The Seadoo Carb Rebuild Thread

L What an excellent thread, wonderful information, breakdown and expanded views are awesome. I’ll put a couple comments in, that really can be taken with a grain of salt. The carbs have a 3 phase operation. Your first few RPM are on the low speed jets. Then into transition, you’ll be getting...

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

If you look at the oil system, the oil pump picks up from the bottom of the engine, providing it under pressure to the cam bearings. Once oiled is delivered to the upper part of the engine, it’s all gravity drain back to the sump. I believe the area around ur PTO, is all splashed, no pressure...

Oil leaking at PTO - 2005 GTX 4-Tec

Sounds like you knocked that out with ease. I'm not much for the oetiker clamp. In most situations, it's just there to keep the boot or expansion joints sealed, to keep dirt out. Because, I live 100 miles from the closest Seadoo dealer, I was forced to use a bit of red-neck engineering. I've...

    Carburetor Adjustments

READ ALL POSTS< ....VIDEOS........> MORE INFO BELOW Bill, great to see your still around, helpling these people out, getting and keep these skis running. I want to get right to the point. Where did you get this info on rebuilding, jetting and tuning the carbs? Did you take this into directly...

1997 XP 787 No Start / gash in hull

I hate to say this, but you sound like you could have some engine work needed. People get excited when they get a good deal on a motor, start it on land, runs like a brand new one, then put it in water, and it floods out, won't run. If your in the water, and you start it, then shut it down...

2006 Sea Doo GTX Limited broken exhaust hose clamp

This is a while back, but not knowing if you solved your problem, I'd say this isn't a really big issue. You said you did not start it when it was half sunk. So, water likely infiltrated your engine from your exhaust ports. This maybe kinda late at the moment, but maybe could help someone in...

RXT-X AS 260 year model conflict

Like stated by Skiasylum, if you look on the back of the ski, you should see the HIN (Hull Identification Number) embossed. The last 2 numbers, will be your year model. But, here's a bit more info to chew on. Seadoo's are color coded from the manufacturer by year they are made. The picture...

    2018 gtx depth finder installation

Okay... seems you made a few redundant posts. Please, stick to one thread, and wait for an answer.

    2018 gtx depth finder installation

I put the transducer depth finder in my 1997 Challenger, without a hitch. It was designed to be put inside the hull. It shot a signal through the fiberglass. Not much info there.. how about attaching what type of depth finder you have. That would be a big help. Even attaching a couple pix...

Make my own seat for bow.

You can use chart paper to trace out the template, then transfer it to a piece of 1/4" marine plywood. I have the 1997 Challenger, and if your talking about that little seat up front, where everyone steps on it when getting into the boat, I actually did away with mine, and put down a piece of...

Seadoo GTX RFI won't start on cranking. Just backfiring loud from manifold and exshaust.

No, that is not normal. While there is a measurement of clearance, it is between the plate and cover. The rotary gear is brass, and is a worm gear where it makes contact with the crankshaft in the center, between the connecting rods. It's brass so that if you damage something, it's that...

Fuel Rail Screw Will Not Come Out

The 4-TEC's aren't my cup of tea, but I am trying to wrap my head around the idea of using gas torch around the fuel rail, fuel system, sounds kinda unsafe. Maybe, I'm just not experienced enough to see the big picture on this fix.

Yeah, I would. And yes, if you were under tow, you should pinch off your water inlet from the pump. I believe the manual says less than 5 mph, your good, but over that, you'll fill the exhaust system with water, till it dumps over into your exhaust ports. Sounds like you got a handle on it...

    2018 gti se

I keep a couple 5 gallon buckets in my shop. When I do this, I empty that oil into the 5 gallon bucket. Once it's full, I take it down to Advanced Auto Parts, and they have a recycle tank in the back. I dump it in there, and keep my bucket. Though, I don't often work on the 4-TEC engines, I...
