Use three bolt puller n impact ti take the center bolt off without spinning the motor over. I sprayed the shaft with pb blaster n let it sit while i had lunch. Splines were lil rusty but it popped off with a little persuasion.
I moved the wires for the stator n trigger disconnected both reconnected n remounted to their brackets n boat runs like raped ape again! No more surge gets 6k rpms n hit 45mph with 7 people n rough water! Thx for the help guys!
I had a similar issue the other day was getting 4000-4500rpms n wouldnt go over 10mph. Took boat out of water flushed motor went back next day got up to 40mph n 4500-5000 rpms. Never got up too full 6200rpms or 55mph since.
I appreciate the help n had felt all along it was a bad trigger so your re assurance has sealed the deal. Im inspecting n hopefully ordering one tomorrow!
Thx guys guess i will have to pull the fly wheel n inspect. Was hoping to not have too. Any pics of what your bad trigger looked like or is it strictly electrical n not visible?
Sorry it wouldnt let me add pic of the plugs. They were all wet n the top two cylinders closest to the flywheel were more black then the rest that were more tan/brown.
