    Shaft Seal?

Just wanted to give an update to this and show all what I found when I removed the exhaust port bulkhead fitting. After installing the new fitting the bilge is nice and dry.

    Fuel problem?

Thanks miki, I appreciate your help. I have ordered the kits and even the JIS screwdriver that you recommended in your thread. Is that a #2 screwdriver? Also ordered the parts to make up the pop-off gauge. Do you have any info on ordering the parts recommended above?

    Fuel problem?

Also, does this kit come with the carb/manifold gasket? I cannot find a part number for this gasket to order them.

    Fuel problem?

Are the carb kits for this boat the MK-BN38/44-SPR kits that you mentioned in your carb rebuild thread? The engines are 110s.

    Fuel problem?

I don't believe the carbs have been rebuilt.

    Fuel problem?

Hi all, in my ongoing saga with my "new to me" 1998 Challenger I am having what I believe to be a fuel problem. I put it in the water for the first time and backed it off the trailer. When I took off and started to speed up she sounded really good. (it has twin 110s) I gave her the gas and she...

    Excessive oil?

Thank you miki, it sounds like this may be a fairly common occurrence with these motors? I found an article with someone experiencing the same thing and they were told that it was probably crank and/or rotary seals too. My boat had sat for an extended period before I fired it. It sounds like if...

    Excessive oil?

I fired up my (new to me) 1998 SeaDoo Challenger 1800 in the driveway and ran it on the garden hose for a few minutes to check things out. After running the port engine for a few minutes and shutting it down. I noticed a puddle of oil on the driveway under the exhaust port. The engine sounds ok...

    Shaft Seal?

Thanks guys, I think I found my problem. I removed the sundeck and checked for leaks at home and found none. I then backed the boat back into the water and immediately had water coming in. With sundeck removed I was able to get my head down in there and found that it was coming in around the...

    Shaft Seal?

I backed my 1998 Challenger 1800 into the water for the first time yesterday and fired the Starboard engine first. The port engine failed to crank. I shut down the Starboard engine so I could hear what was going on with the port engine. The solenoid was just clicking when I pushed the button. I...

    New upholstery - Challenger 1800

I purchased a 1998 Sea Doo Challenger 1800 late last summer and decided to reupholster the seats over the winter. I just happened to buy the same kit as you and recently came across your post after I had removed all of the seats and started to prepare for the project. I found your post very...
