I started with the 16 foot 98 speedster then went to the 2004 200 and now own the 2012 Challenger 230. It was a huge jump from the 200 to the 230. Even though its just over 3 feet longer, the interior of the boat feels like twice the size. its huge in comparison. With the large amount of storage...
Left engine running rough. RPM would surge. Sometimes it was fine. Other times, I would give it throttle, Right engine up to 7800-8000 RPM like normal, left engine would top out like 6000. Smetimes it revved up fine, other times it bouced and surged rpm. It just seemed to sputter. Very...
I have the same jensen head unit. What did you replace it with? Does it fit in the same hole? Do you have the remote on the back of the boat? I hate this POS jensen . and want to upgrade.
My 2012 Chaleenger 230 with the 255's had the same issue. Wasnt a SC problem. It was the intercooler. The intercoolers are severely flawed. They develop leaks internally and then allow water to get into the airflow that enters the engine. Pull your spark plugs and see if they are wet from water...
Awesome job!! I love custom stereo installs and that looks top notch. For the front locker lid, just add the hydroturf strips on it. When I had the 200 and bought the turf kit, it came with 2 pieces i couldnt figure out where they went, and that was the extra option.
Nice boat. I am currently in a 2012 Challenger 230, but previously had a 2004 Speedster 200. I had to do a ot of work to it, so i totally feel your pain. The Monster Tower looks great, much better than the OEM tower. I replaced all the outside graphics on mine. I found a few online left over...
Ive had good luck using the local sea ray dealer. They also sell the new scarabs. The scarab uses the Rotax engine, So if they can work on those, they can usually work on the newer sea doo 4 stroke boats.
Not sure what size speedster you have, but on the 2004 200 that i had, those circuits were all fed by a fuse panel that sits under the flip up windshield behind the instrument cluster. That panel was fed by a wire that connects to the main battery switch. I would make sure you have the wires...
Welcome!!! Once you get one of these boats, you will be hooked. I started with a twin engine 98 speedster then moved to a 200 and now have the 230 4 stroke Lots of fun and addicting.
