    water's leaking somewhere 95's sporster

just needs some help... Have had leaks all over the exhaust system, had to get the 'bung' welded, then reclaimped, etc... worked well for a while, then the exahust bolts came loose. Lost two bolts, had to get new ones and new gasket, that's fine now... Not seeing any leaks from the PTO...

How reliable our boats are today?

I thikn the biggest issue is parts... supply chain. Not that things break any sooner, but its things like the MPEM, pump/PTO, carb kits, etc... less it seems on things like impellers and the motor itself things to make them more reliable other than operator error are changing the hoses, put in...

Sound deadning Egg Foam - flaking and maybe hurting engine?

I've been very diligent with my boat, but know that on the Seadoo Sportster (95) that I own, the eggcrate foam dampinging material is very much creating alot of dust... Not realizing that it was 'so much', until my mechanic said... well we just rebuit your motor 30 hours ago and it was 148...

    95 SPEEDSTER MPEM NEEDED. PART # 278 000 601

I had to source a MPEM from a seadoo with the 657x and my mechanic had to jimmy the wiring for it to work, and couldn't get the fuel guage enabled

720 sportster high speed shut off

I only have a single... if you can't turn it over with the starter even with plugs out, its either you have something that has locked up the pump (PTO/impeller) OR somehow you've detonated the bottom end. I recently sucked up a stupid tube handle... locked my motor right up, couldn't access it...

Best way to Operate these boats and cooling

ran it like I stole it. Probably never ran it more than 20 minutes at a time near weight capacity... but I do notice I need more "gas" to get it up to plane. When the engine is cold-ish (say had 10 minutes cool down), it hits the powerband, what I feel is harder and requiring less throttle...

Best way to Operate these boats and cooling

This is such an Amazing response @Spider4real - Thank you! Blower: You are probably right about the blower . Prior to the rebuild of my motor, I was running 135/130 and in order for the motor to get into the powerband and plane and stay there, I needed to give it more oxygen and Cooling or so...

Best way to Operate these boats and cooling

My boat has pretty much been fully refereshed... full long block, rebuilt pump with new impeller, changed all the hoses, new battery, new MPEM, new starter, replaced countless rectifiers and did the CDI as part of the replacement of the engine etc... I followed break in procedures and rarely go...

General Seadoo Boat - more weight, how does it effect engine life and cavitation

Kinda a dumb questions... I read that a well maintained Rotax 2 stroke, whether be a 587 - 951 can last a good number of hours... 200+ some up to 400 How/what do hours mean though... So on a seadoo boat there is materially more weight than a seadoo (obviously) and when burdened with passangers...

    Starter issue 95' Sportster 657x

My starter has kinda been finicky, but my mechanic had given me assurances that it was fine and that the charging voltage from the rectifier was good... I always keep a rectifier handy as we know them to be a consumable. Out of the water it will keep going until the motor turns over.. .good...

    95 Sportster MPEM Swap

FYI I believe it was a 94 or 95 SPX NOS MPEM that my boat mechanic was able to rewire for my 95 sportster with a 657x The benefit of the 657x generation of Boat is that it is stupid basic without the DESS and other little things that came after 96 with the 717 I believe alot did have to be...
