96 gti possible damage from overheat event

Bump for related question. When I winterized this ski, I hooked it up to the pump to fill with antifreeze, which did indeed find the hole. Turned out to be the short 6mm hose that goes from the tune pipe to the exhaust cone. There was a hole at both ends. My question is, I have leftover fuel...

    94 xp and 95 spx

got a bead on these two. Being sold with trailer, supposedly in great condition, though I'll have to check them out in person to confirm, check fuel lines, etc... $3000 for all. I'm feeling like this is on the high end of worth it, wanted to get opinions. No idea on hours or actual condition.

96 gti possible damage from overheat event

Compression test is a good idea, I should have thought of that. I'll run it on the hose too. Thanks for the suggestions.

96 gti possible damage from overheat event

Took this ski out on labor day. I put shut off valves on the intake/outake hoses when I fixed this up, because I anticipated the need to tow it now and then, even though I got this ski working after sitting for years, I still don't know that much about them or jet skis in general...

    96 GTI exhaust hose replacement

I burned through the exhaust hose, part number 274000266 on one of my skis. Stupid mistake, I had the intake and outake hoses shut off for towing, and forgot to open them when I went out, obviously it overheated fairly quickly. I stopped, and cooled the engine but the damage had been done...

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

Update and question. Got the skis on the water this weekend, beautiful weather and calm water for lake erie. Great for riding. GTX continues to perform great. GTI Started up and took off at launch, bring it back to sure and wouldn't restart. Pop the seat and see the fuel line feeding the...

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

So, to wrap this up for now, here are pics of the final product. Two jetski's, a 95 gtx and a 96 gti, with trailer, sitting in someones backyard for the last (at least) 7 years, bought for $1000. Brought back to life by someone who has never worked on an engine before, let alone ridden or even...

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

Thanks, I'll check the gti and see if it's missing spacers or something. Another question, I've got a nozzle with a vein and an Ozil without the vein as you can see in the picture. What kind of difference can I expect in their performance of the ski between them?

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

I've got two nozzles here and don't see room for it. I do see it in the schematics now though. Guess I'll just leave it out. Another question, on the 95 GTX, without the dess post, is the buzzer only an over heating alarm?

Can anybody tell me what this is, I found it in the storage bin of the gti

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

Question, I replaced the venturi on the 95 GTX. The one that was on it when I bought them last year did not have the attachment points for the reverse gate, even though the ski has the reverse capabilities. I wanted to add the reverse capability back onto the ski. I bought the venturi last...

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

GTI is all back together, revinyled the seats, new buzzer, working gauge, etc... I'll switch up the skis on the stand and do a little work on the GTX and be ready to go on the first decent day. Still wondering if there is a way to test if an MPEM is functional without installing it on a ski...

    1996 GTI and 1995 GTX

Solved 2 problems with one stone. While trying to get the bolts out from the latch, the hood broke off it the hinge, the hole and cracked part of the hood weakened the whole bottom of the hood. No choice but to get a new hood now anyway.
