    GTI Sponsons on 8' Hull?

I have a 91' xp with no sponsons that I'm currently rebuilding... I have the reminents of a 96' GTI that I used for a jet-jon project. I pulled the sponsons off of it and was wondering what effect they might have on a smaller hull? My first instinct is NO don't put them on the smaller hull...

Sounds like you are right on target

    1mm over Bore Size

Yea, you don't want 0.050 clearance....lol that motor would blow up real quick. I believe anywhere under 0.008" is acceptable for a rebuild. I would think 0.0045 would be optimal... You are probably fine with 0.006" clearance... Has the cylinder already been honed?

You need a tool to pull the rotary valve gearset. I found this by googling rotary shaft removal tool.

    DESS vs Non-DESS MEPMs ?

Are there differences in the ignition curve, I.E. electronics for 587 vs 657 & 657x vs 717? Are the electronics interchangeable? Example would be installing a 717 in a 587 hull and using all of the 587 electronics.... I am aware of 5 vs 4 wire stators.

    DESS vs Non-DESS MEPMs ?

Hey Folks, Currently building out a couple older skis and had a question about MEPM differences. I believe sometime around 96', seadoo switched to the DESS system. Are there significant differences between older mepms and newer mepms for 587-717 motors. I'm currently swapping a 657x motor...

    Help Identifying Mystery Seadoo Impeller

Hi, Trying to identify a stainless seadoo impeller. I plan to make a pitch gauge and measure pitch. Was wondering if anyone has seen one of these before? It came out of an early 90's ski, it is stainless and pretty heavy. The only number cast into the impeller is "9" Anyone?

580 yellow / white engine questions.

They do not interchange... The yellow have no coolant passages leading into to the exhaust manifold, coolant flows into and exits out of the crankcase. The white motors have cooling passages that go into the exhaust manifold and no coolant flowing through the crankcase. The cylinder liners...

Which Hull? - 91 XP vs 94 SP

91 sp or 94 sp? Is one hull better for top speed/acceleration, or handling? I have both hulls, would love to build a ski for top speed and one for handling... I would think the earlier hull would have better top speed and acceleration due to weight differences but I'm no expert...
